S + C wanted to have their redwood forest elopement here in the San Francisco Bay Area. They were looking for a beautiful place to celebrate their marriage with their friends and their adorable dog, Milo. The Bay Area is very fortunate to have a lot of redwood options to choose from, but Joaquin Miller Park ended up being the perfect choice: dog-friendly, easily accessible, and not crowded. Oh, and it’s absolutely gorgeous!

There are so many different parts of Point Reyes to explore (over 100 square miles) and so much variety that you’ll always find a new corner to enjoy.
Read MoreThe day after their elopement, I met up with A + C for their wedding portraits back where their ceremony had been — this perfect slice of the Utah desert just outside of Zion National Park. Since A + C didn’t want to miss out celebrating their wedding day with their families, we decided a day-after portrait session would be perfect for them. I especially love day-after wedding portraits when you have guests because it gives you one on one time with your partner without feeling like you’ve left your friends and family behind.
Read MoreA + C had the most beautiful and special celebration with their families — a perfect Utah desert wedding! Like so many couples, A + C had to change their wedding plans not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES because of the pandemic. Initially they planned to get married in Muir Woods in the Bay Area, then changed their plans to a botanical garden in Southern California, and finally decided to upgrade their family vacation into the perfect wedding celebration!
Read MoreA + C had the most beautiful fall elopement in the Tahoe National Forest, though this was far from their original plans. They were one of many couples who had to change their wedding plans multiple times because 2020 doesn’t know how to be chill. They first rescheduled their wedding because of COVID and then had to pivot again because of the California wildfires. Then the week of their elopement, we had to shift gears again because of unexpected road closures. Thankfully, A + C are the sweetest couple who handled everything with grace and a sense of humor.
Read MoreV + K are two outdoor enthusiasts who pretty much spend every available weekend exploring all the things that mother nature has to offer. They love hiking, backpacking, fly-fishing, and climbing pretty much anything. Their sweet pup loves to join them on their expeditions and will lie down in any amount of water available to her — she’s the cutest!!
Read MoreIf you’ve ever been to the Pacific Northwest (PNW for short), you know there’s no shortage of beautiful forests, epic waterfalls, and scenic rivers. As PNW natives themselves, J + D had been to pretty much every gorgeous waterfall in the area and wanted to go somewhere new to take their wedding portraits. After landing on Moulton Falls, with its stunning and historic arch bridge, we started planning their session which included a short hike through the forest.
Read MoreI was so excited to go to Boulder to photograph S + D’s adventure elopement; this was actually part two of their wedding celebration, part one was in California, and for the second half we headed to Colorado. S + D met in Colorado and recently moved back there from California so it made perfect sense to celebrate their wedding in both states.
Read MoreIf you’ve ever looked up how to have an adventure elopement in Yosemite National Park, you’ve no doubt seen photos of the spectacular Taft Point. I met up with E + N while they were on a road trip from Kansas and they were so excited to spend a few days exploring Yosemite. (I took a few days to do the same!) After discussing timing and logistics of various locations, we settled on hiking to Taft Point to be there for sunset. A beautiful (and surprisingly short) hike through the forest suddenly opens up to expansive views high above the valley below. Taft Point is one of those places you could visit dozens of times and always be in awe of.

Read MoreIf you’re looking for a totally unique wedding experience, eloping in a slot canyon should be at the top of your list. The Arizona desert is full of beautiful surprises (you would never know this location was here just by driving by) and slot canyons are an absolute dream to explore! B + J had so much fun running through the sand, going up and down the ladders, and discovering each new scene that revealed itself as we made our way through the canyon. This was definitely one of my favorite locations to date!
Read MorePlanning K + D’s winter elopement in Lake Tahoe was such an adventure! First, for those of you familiar with the Lake Tahoe area, I know what you’re thinking about the first photo: “Umm, that’s not Lake Tahoe!” And you’re totally right, it’s actually nearby Donner Lake. We started the day at Lake Tahoe (snowshoeing adventure for the win!), but unfortunately winter weather prevented us from shooting at the various lakeside locations we had initially discussed. K + D had a great “roll with it” attitude and we took advantage of our backup location at Donner Lake where the weather was clearer and we were treated with the most beautiful sunset! Check out the snowshoeing photos below at the start of our adventurous day! (By the way, snowshoeing is now my preferred method of travel, it’s so fun!)
