Laid Back Hawaiian Beach Wedding
E + R had a laid back and fun beach wedding on the stunning southern coast of Kauai, near Poipu and Old Koloa Town. R’s family used to live in Hawaii and E’s family lives on the coast in Southern California so a love of the ocean has been instilled in them both from a young age. This love of the beach made selecting Kauai for their destination wedding a natural choice.
Their relaxed ceremony was on Shipwreck’s Beach, with close family and friends joining to form a half circle around the couple, facing the beautiful blue waters.
I asked the couple what their favorite moments from the wedding day were and here’s what they had to say:
From the bride: “Seeing my husband look at me as I walked down the aisle, and the first time I called him my husband.”
From the groom: “The moment I walked out for my first dance with my wife and my wife said quickly, ‘I forgot everything’. Mind you we practiced this dance routine for months and now had to wing it. I love that she continues to keep me on my toes.”
As their ceremony drew to a close, guests were ready to celebrate with handfuls of rose petals to throw as E + R kissed for the first time as a married couple! The moment was so perfect — one of my all time favorite images!
For the reception, everyone headed over to the Beach House Restaurant where guests enjoyed a laid back al fresco dinner overlooking the water. At the end of the night, E + R spontaneously decided to head into the water for one last epic photo!
More sweet words from the couple:
“We absolutely loved having you (Natalie) as our photographer and couldn’t have dreamt of a better person to capture our wedding and share this amazing experience with. We were so happy having you at our wedding, and are grateful for the beautiful photos you produced for us. Many of which are currently hanging in our home as a reminder of our special day. We can’t thank you enough!!!!”
